The reason i switched was that the HKS is a better valve in its design (well, that and I got a fat discount on them at work). I don't think you would have any trouble with the springs in the Apexi valves fatigueing any time soon. Depending on how much boost you run, they should last quite a few years. The reason smart people upgrade to BOVs in the first place is because they realize the spring in the stock recircs will start to fatigue sooner or later once they raise the boost.
